Overview
Salesloft, the top sales engagement platform, assists businesses in cultivating meaningful customer relationships through an array of sales tools that streamline workflows and automate processes.
For this project, I collaborated with a Senior Product Designer from the Conversations Pod to redesign the Share Recordings Modal. Our goal was to streamline the complex sharing process. After numerous iterations, user feedback, and comprehensive design explorations, we created a version that we feel, based on management and user feedback, solves the users biggest pain point, which is to have the ability to quickly share a recording link.
Highlights
Conducted in-depth user interviews, the feedback from which fueled our design iterations and enabled us to tailor our solution to user needs.
With over 15 different modal layouts crafted, our rigorous design exploration highlighted a commitment to the iterative process.
The final design strikes a balance between user and business needs, underscoring our understanding of the importance of catering to both.

Share Recordings Redesign
In the Share Recordings project at Conversations, I teamed up with a Senior Product Designer to overhaul the existing Share Recordings Modal. Users found it burdensome to share recordings, often abandoning the task due to its complexity and multiple steps.
Aiming to simplify and enhance the sharing process, we engaged our team and gathered insights through user interviews, feedback from design management, and liaised with Product Managers for alignment. The original modal’s design presented significant issues: a lack of aesthetic and functional appeal and a convoluted link generation process requiring unnecessary information. These challenges hid key features, leading to a fragmented user experience.
Addressing these issues head-on, we reimagined the modal design, facing and overcoming challenges with creating various modal layouts and justifying each design decision. This project broadened my view on user-centric design and underscored the value of cross-functional collaboration, working closely with not just the design team but also PMs, users, and engineers.
Embarking on a comprehensive design journey, I crafted over 20 modal layouts. Initially drawing from the existing modal, my designs evolved as we addressed user pain points, refined visuals, and optimized the layout.
Going beyond tweaks to the existing model, I innovated and reimagined our standard modal, backed by insights from detailed user interviews. Users found the link generation too complex and were unaware of certain features. Acknowledging this, we simplified link generation and improved feature visibility, allowing quick link access without opening the modal. These changes, driven by user feedback, transformed our design, making it more intuitive, efficient, and resonant with our users' needs.
Informed by user feedback and design management guidance, we introduced the Branched Share Recording Modal, allowing users to easily choose internal or external recording sharing. This balanced design, shaped by continual feedback and iteration, stands as a significant solution in meeting user needs. Additionally, we enhanced user experience by incorporating a quick-copy link button on conversation cards for fast and efficient link sharing.
Our redesign markedly improved the user experience, leading to fewer task abandonments and increased user engagement.
Feedback affirmed the design's positive impact, with users highlighting the enhanced ease of quickly copying a recording link. This project refined my skills in design decision-making, user interviews, and understanding diverse project constraints. Moving forward, the Share Recordings Modal will undergo further user testing and feedback integration, followed by discussion and refinement with our engineering team, ultimately leading to its incorporation into the Salesloft product.

Reflection
The Share Recordings Modal redesign was a significant project, highlighting my contributions and learning. Despite its impact, reflection presents opportunities for improvement:
Early user feedback could have fast-tracked our design and reduced iterations.
Allocating more time initially might have averted design-functional conflicts, ensuring seamless features like the quick-copy link.
Prompt involvement of diverse teams might have eased decision-making, bolstering alignment between design, product management, and engineering teams.
